Less than three months remain until the early signing period of the 2025 football recruiting class begins. Even with the college football season underway, the countdown is on as teams address the final needs for their respective hauls. The Big Ten and SEC make up a vast majority of the teams in the latest top-25 team recruiting rankings. It is no surprise the SEC leads all conferences with 10 teams in that select group, while the Big Ten is close behind in second with nine. The ACC has four and the Big 12 has just one to round out the Power Four conferences.
The early signing period is just 12 weeks away with the new start date moved to Dec. 4 for the 2025 class. So, which teams have the edge in the recruiting race as the midway point of September approaches?

Wisconsin holds commitments from three Top247 prospects in the 2025 class with Albuquerque (N.M.) La Cueva four-star linebacker Mason Posa headlining the group.
20. TCU Horned Frogs — 225.49
TCU leads the new-look Big 12 recruiting rankings with its class that consists of two Top247 commits — Brownsboro (Texas) four-star cornerback Micah Strickland and Humble (Texas) Summer Creek four-star edge rusher Chad Woodfork. Rutgers has the largest pledge class in the nation with 29 (!!) commits locked in already. The Scarlet Knights are on pace for their best class in the modern recruiting era. Pressure is rising for Florida and coach Billy Napier with the Gators not only struggling on the field, but outside the top-20 national recruiting rankings as well.
