Saturday could not have gone any better for Arch Manning. After mostly sitting on the bench aside from a few snaps through the first two games of the season, the highly thought of quarterback took over for an injured Quinn Ewers against UTSA.

Befitting of his last name, he showed off the promising talent that many have wanted to see for a long time. He threw and ran for a touchdown on his first two drives, respectively, and finished the game with five total scores; all while completing 9/12 passes for 223 yards. Before he got to the locker room to celebrate, though, he took time to sign some autographs for a couple of young fans.

One of them was wearing a #16 Manning shirsey, showcasing just how big Manning’s influence has gotten before he has even become a starter. It was a nice gesture from Manning on one of the most important days of his life.

Manning will likely go back to being a backup as soon as Ewers gets healthy, though it’s unclear how long he will be out for or if he will even miss any games. If he does, Manning has proven to be more than ready to fill in adequately.
