BYU 5 commitment today Kalani Sitake’s confirm over Alabama and Auburn welcome…

We cover USC football here at Trojans Wire 12 months a year, but we are also in the business of covering the Big Ten and college football more broadly. When there is a story of national interest, we will talk about it. BYU football has become a story of national interest in the college football world for several different and equally compelling reasons. We start with the point that BYU was snubbed by the College Football Playoff when it actually had a solid resume and, more specifically, had a better resume than the SMU team it defeated on the road earlier this season. SMU got into the College Football Playoff, BYU did not. That point is obvious, and yet it wasn’t a huge discussion point on ESPN or in other mass-media circles on Sunday after the playoff field was revealed.

The next big story involving BYU is that it is playing Deion Sanders and Colorado in a bowl game. Two teams from the same conference will be playing in a bowl? That shouldn’t happen, but it did. There’s a lot to unpack from that story as well, and it does actually relate to BYU’s playoff snub and the Big 12. There’s a lot to talk about here, so let’s do it:
