The Gators are also playing for third-year head coach Billy Napier, who sits firmly on the hot seat. He owns just a 14-17 overall record in his first two and a half seasons at the helm in Gainesville, while he is just 7-12 in SEC contests.

Since Kentucky snapped a 31-game losing streak to the Gators in 2018, UK has taken control of the head-to-head matchup. The Wildcats are 4-2 against Florida since 2018 and have won each of the last three matchups between the two teams, including a 26-16 win in Gainesville in 2022 and a 33-14 win in Lexington last season.

Looking to bounce back after an ugly home loss to Vanderbilt, the Kentucky Wildcats (3-3, 1-3) will travel South to the Swamp to take on the Florida Gators (3-3, 1-2) for a 7:45 p.m. EST showdown at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Both Kentucky and Florida enter play 3-3 on the season and hope to get another step closer to bowl eligibility.

“We have obviously a big challenge going on the road, playing in the Swamp and playing a Florida team that is getting better and better and playing extremely hard, and is always very loaded with very good players,” UK head coach Mark Stoops said of the matchup with the Gators. “We know it will be a great challenge, we know their team, much like ours, it’s a thin line between success and failure, and that will do everything to get a victory. It’s a very prideful program and Coach (Billy) Napier will have his team ready and I need to do the same. So, we got to regroup in a hurry and get right back at it and get back to work and find some solutions.”
