Louisville is coming off a 9-4 season and the Cardinals won their final three games, including wins over Pittsburgh, Kentucky, and Washington in the Sun Bowl. The Cardinals have 21 transfers already enrolled in school and have signed a recruiting class of 15 other freshmen.
The meeting will be the 30th between in-state foes U of L and EKU. It will mark the first meeting since the Cards won 30-3 at home during the 2021 season. Louisville leads the overall series 20-8-1 and has won the last five meetings.
And as expected, the Louisville Cardinals will host Eastern Kentucky on Aug. 30 at L&N Stadium to open the third season under Jeff Brohm.
A game time and television designation will be announced at a later date.
U of L’s opener in the ACC will be announced Friday at 4 p.m., with the full schedule reveal taking place Monday from 9-11 p.m. on the ACC Network.
