Cowboys Land Coveted 5-Star: Cincinnati Bengals Player Makes Surprise Switch

In a stunning move that has sent shockwaves through the NFL, a 5-star player from the Cincinnati Bengals has committed to joining the Dallas Cowboys. The news, which was announced earlier today, has left fans and analysts alike reeling.

The player, who has been a key contributor to the Bengals’ success in recent years, is expected to bring a new level of talent and expertise to the Cowboys’ roster. The move is seen as a major coup for Dallas, who have been looking to bolster their lineup ahead of the new season.

Details of the deal are still emerging, but sources close to the team indicate that the player has signed a multi-year contract worth tens of millions of dollars. The move is subject to league approval, but is expected to be finalized in the coming days.

The loss is a significant blow to the Bengals, who had been counting on the player’s skills and experience to drive their success in the upcoming season. The team will now be forced to scramble to find a replacement, with options limited just weeks before the season kicks off.

For the Cowboys, meanwhile, the addition of the 5-star player is a major boost to their Super Bowl hopes. The team has been quietly building a talented roster in recent years, and this latest move is seen as a key piece of the puzzle.

Football may not be at the Olympics, but the Cincinnati Bengals still got a shoutout at the Paris 2024 games.

NBC commentators revealed Mexican diver Osmar Olvera is a Cincinnati Bengals fan during Thursday’s broadcast of the men’s 3-meter springboard final at Olympic Aquatics Center.

“He’s a Cincinnati Bengals fan, crazy Bengals fan. And he rocks the Joe Burrow hoodie,” the commentator said about the diver, who won bronze in the event.

A photo of Olvera wearing a No. 9 Bengals jersey was shown on the broadcast.

On Instagram, Olvera follows the Cincinnati Bengals’ official account, as well as Bengals players, including Burrow, Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase.

While the Mexican diver’s connection to the Cincinnati team was not given, the commentator said the 20-year-old’s dad, Sergio Olvera, used to play the sport. Sergio Olvera is also the current head football coach at Arkansas State University Querétaro in Mexico, according to an Instagram post from the university.

Olvera and his teammate Juan Celaya won silver in the men’s synchronized 3-meter springboard earlier in this year’s games. The duo are the first athletes representing Mexico to medal in the event.

Charlie Jones was carted off the field during the Cincinnati Bengals’ first practice on their new turf.

The Bengals’ second-year receiver went down with an apparent right knee issue after he was flipped to the ground during a 7-on-7 drill Thursday. Although he needed assisted off the field and was walking gingerly through the locker room after practice, Jones appeared in good spirits chatting with his teammates.

Cincinnati was testing out its new FieldTurf CORE surface at Paycor Stadium for the first time in a practice Thursday, as the team sets to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their preseason opener Saturday. Seven other NFL teams have the same monofilament product, which the Bengals selected with player safety and performance data in mind.

“A lot of time and energy has been spent on the health and safety of our players, what is best for their health and safety,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said. “So, a lot of people in this organization worked tirelessly to make sure we had the best product available to where our players can function to their max ability and be safe. It’s football, so things are always going to happen, but the time and effort — I do appreciate ownership, and (director of operations Jeff) Brick (Brickner) and (equipment manager) Adam Knollman and all the people involved in that.”

Taylor said the Bengals held a walkthrough in the stadium for the first time Wednesday, and he felt it was important to get a practice on the turf before playing a game. The Bengals were not able to get onto the surface before this week because of the Luke Combs concert at Paycor Stadium this past weekend.

The Bengals originally were scheduled to have fans in attendance Thursday, but with the change to the stadium, it was a closed practice and the organization added an open session Aug. 19 instead.
