Don deal: Five-star Tennessee announce his full commitment, who’s he…
It’s not often an offensive lineman puts out can’t-miss highlights.
The long awaited decision of five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. finally happened on Saturday afternoon, and the Tennessee Volunteers got some great news. Sanders picked the Vols over the likes of Ohio State, Nebraska and Georgia this weekend, giving Tennessee yet another huge piece of their future puzzle.
Sanders is the top rated tackle in the 2025 class, checking in as the No. 2 overall player in the country. The 6-6, 290 pound prospect comes from Charlotte, North Carolina, currently starting his senior year at Providence Day School.
This was a long, winding road of a recruitment, but Josh Heupel and the Tennessee staff were able to close this one out following a late visit last month. Sanders was surrounded by several top Tennessee commitments during that weekend, which was enough to hold off a late push by Nebraska.
Sanders has just about everything you could dream up in an offensive tackle — length, athleticism, power and a mean streak. Offensive line highlights don’t typically jump off the screen at you, but Sanders’ certainly does. Rep after rep — finish after finish. You can really get a sense of just how powerful he is as he nearly single-handedly creates gaps in the run game.
Maybe the scariest part of all? He’s only 290 pounds and has plenty of room to fill out. Even though he’s considered lean right now, the aggressiveness and upper body strength really stands out. Take a look at his junior tape below and then imagine that coming at you with an additional 20 pounds.
Tennessee jumped up to the No. 6 class in the 2025 cycle with the addition of Sanders, per 247Sports. The Volunteers now hold 22 commitments heading into the fall, with at least another likely one coming next week.
