When Brock Vandagriff jogged onto the field at Center Parc Stadium on Dec. 28, 2020, what transpired in the following hours was a familiar script for his school, Prince Avenue Christian. The Wolverines won. And Vandagriff’s name lit up the marquee.

Squaring off with Trinity Christian in Georgia’s Class A Private state championship contest, it was no contest: Prince Avenue earned a 41-21 victory as Vandagriff, the school’s superstar signal caller, completed 72% (18 for 25) of his passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns. He added 76 yards and another score on the ground.

The season-capping win tied a bow on Prince Avenue’s first state title in football. Aside from a loss to Rabun County, a Class 2A squad that reached the state semifinals in its division that fall, Prince Avenue won every other game it played in 2020 — 13 in all — by double digit
