The Louisville football team is in a much better position than they were this time a year ago. While the Cardinals were 2-0 last year too, this year’s team could be better. That’s because no one expected this team to be any good this year after they lost so many contributors on offense.

This offense might arguably be the strongest part of this team right now. They have scored 62 and 49 points in each of the first two games. If they keep scoring at those levels, the defense won’t have to be spectacular. This team was supposed to have a really good defense and an average offense. Both units might be great.

Looking at how multiple other teams have faltered around the country, the Louisville Cardinals’ schedule has suddenly become a lot easier. Their path to the College Football Playoff has gotten clearer through the first two weeks of the season as they enjoy their bye week.
