Nebraska defensive coordinator Tony White is expected to be hired as Florida State football’s defensive coordinator, according to reports from On3.
White has been the Huskers’ defensive coordinator since 2023 and was previously in the same role at Syracuse and Arizona State. The 45-year-old is from Key West, Florida and played college football at UCLA.
He would replace Adam Fuller, who was fired after five seasons with the Seminoles following the 52-3 loss to Notre Dame. FSU finished the year 2-10, losing to Florida 31-11 in the regular season finale.
Randy Shannon acted as interim defensive coordinator for FSU’s final two games of the season.
Nebraska had a top-20 defense under White and he has been highly coveted. He was a name of interest in head coaching search and defensive coordinator search in both 2023 and this season.
